Ribbon!

On my annual Michigan Stampin' Scrappin' Retreat I do samples for everything I give away. These two cards were samples for the ribbon give-a-way. I wanted to show some nontraditional ways to use ribbon - ways other than bows, knots, etc.

The first card used pink scraps to make a flower. I attached the scraps to a punched circle and trimmed them to make the flower.I finished the flower center with a So Saffron button . The stem is a piece of non Stampin' Up! green from my scrap stash.

The second card uses a piece of satin ribbon that is adhered to a punched circle on the bottom and then topped with another punched circle. The stem was hand cut and the leaves were oval punched, scored and inked.

If you click on these pictures you will get a bigger picture for a closer look.

Thanks for looking!

Big Shot Basket

Easter is just around the corner. What a perfect opportunity to have an EXCUSE to play with the the BigShot, your favorite DSP and chocolate!! I chose this basket for demonstration at my S&S Open House after seeing it on Gretchen Barron's website. For my own version, I used the BigShot, the Scalloped Envelope and Simple Flower dies, the new Eyelet Border punch, the Crop-A-Dile, Rasberry Tart DSP, Pretty in Pink Card Stock and Taffeta Ribbon, Sticky Strip, Paper Snips and Snail Adhesive. If you'd like the instructions, let me know.

Salebration card

Sorry I am a little behind in my posting! Time just seem to get a way from me! Here is a card I made using the salebration set Botanical Blooms and the Delicate Dots designer paper. My picture really doesn't do it justice. Hope you like it! I have enjoyed looking at everyone else's posting! Keep up the good work!

My daughter's graduation announcement

Here is a picture of my youngest daughter's graduation announcement. The stamp set is great grads. Which is what I used to do my twins announcements last year. But luckily she goes to our new middle school so the cards do not look anything alike. The cap is put on a dimensional so it stands out a bit. Her school colors are hunter green, black & white. So I used basic black, whisper white, handsome hunter, kiwi kiss & garden green dsp.

Posting Schedule

Several weeks ago, I sent out a schedule via email for posting to our blog in hopes that we'd have a minimum of two new postings every week. I've noticed that things are slowing down a bit, so here's friendly reminder that everyone will be able to locate at any time without having to sort through your mailbox!

First full week of the month: Kristy P and Avis
Second full week of the month: Lisa and Sheryl
Third full week of the month: Heather W and Ronette
Fourth full week of the month: Barb, Kristy B and Judy

I will personally commit to posting at least two times each month, and of course, anyone is free to post at any time. This schedule above is just a minimum -- I know everyone listed has at least one thing that is worthy of sharing each month =)

Thanks for all of the posts so far...I'm lovin' 'em!

Sweet Always class

I've been spending time lately trying to come up with some new ideas for classes that will entice both my long-time customers as well as brand new stampers to attend...and to keep the class affordable.

So my first class is a Sweet Always class where everyone will make a stationary box and six different cards all featuring (duh) the Sweet Always designer series paper. This was a fun class to create and the fact that my color palette is already chosen for me really helps cut down on supplies. I found it so relaxing to sit down with 6 sheets of DSP, a few pieces of Chocolate Chip, Regal Rose, Pink Pirouette, Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White and Kraft card stock, and 6 ink pads (the first five colors mentioned previously, plus a VersaMark). Throw in a few spools of ribbon, my Big Shot, lots of punches and a few stamp sets and I had the class put together in no time. I'll post pictures of the remaining five cards for you to enjoy in April.

Vow Renewal Invites

Here is a picture of the invitations that I just got done making for my parent's vow renewal ceremony. They have been married 40 years in June. I was a little concerned when my mom picked the colors that she did. They are not what I would have picked. But I think they came out very nice and very summer appropriate. All of the stamps are from the together forever stamp set. The colors are yo yo yellow, brillant blue & whisper white. The flower image I just stamped mutiple times turning the stamp different ways each time.
