Vellum Coloring Technique

My Technique Club meets once a month to learn 2 new techniques. They make a technique page with instructions and an example of each for their albums. We also make cards using those techniques. The stamp sets we used for the Vellum Coloring Technique in this post are Doodle This and Heard From The Heart. We also used the Scallop Edge Punch, Rhinestone Brads, Markers and White Embossing Powder. Contact myself or your demonstrator to join a club.

Another Valentine Card

Here is another valentine card I did with my club. I used Riding Hood Red and Chocolate Chip cardstock with the chocolate chip designer paper. The hearts are from Simply Said and the ribbon is also Riding Hood Red. A little dazzling diamonds too!

Valentine Card

This is a Valentine card that I made with my club this month. I used pretty in pink and pumpkin pie cardstock with Sweet Always designer paper. I used 5/8" Chocolate Chip grosgrain ribbon. The stamps are from the new level one hostess set Darling Dots. It was simple and could be easily duplicated for multiple cards!

Framed Art Work

I am a snowbird and have limited supplies with me, so I am sharing framed artwork that I made last month and gave as gifts. These were so easy to make that I will probably be offering a workshop. The words are cut using the Big Shot and Stampin’ Up! “Join in the Cheer” diecut. The 2009 Spring and Summer Catalog has 11 pages of dies, including embossing which you are sure to love. If you don’t have your Sizzix Big Shot machine, contact your demonstrator to order it!

Heartfelt Cased SAB

The demo challenge over at Splitcoaststampers was to case (copy and share everything) a card from the Sale-a-bration brochure. I chose the card on the bottom of page 3 and changed the stamp set and the flowers on the white piece.

I challenge you to case a card out of any Stampin' Up publication and when you get it done, I would love to see it! If you have an online gallery, leave a comment with a link to it below or email me at (inkandpapercreations@gmail.com) with a picture of the card and I will link it below!

Happy Creating!

Valentine's Day Goody Bags

At tonight's INKcited gathering, Sheryl brought along these adorable treat bags that she made for Valentine's Day. The secret is to cut off the top portion of a small craft bag and adhere it between two pieces of card stock cut with the Top Note die. Aren't they cute?

New background technique

I just had to use the Love You Much bundle for my January stamp club and knew that the two-tone background technique would be perfect for Valentine's Day. To create this look on your own you'll need two colors of craft ink, a heat tool, a spray bottle of water, wax paper and a paper towel. Apply the lightest ink color to your paper using the direct to paper method, leaving some uninked space. Set with a heat tool. Apply your second ink color allowing some of the first color to show through. Mist the card stock with water. Crumple up the wax paper and use it to move/remove the ink from the card stock. I found it helpful to "clean" my wax paper after pressing it in the ink (i.e., dab the wax paper on the paper towel). I also noticed that the crumpled wax paper went flat after a few dabs on the card stock so I highly recommend re-crumpling it occasionally for best results. When you get the look you want, you can heat set it or simply let it dry for 10-15 minutes.

A few other things I can share...The card stock will not lay flat once it gets wet. If you let the card stock dry on its own, it will flatten out without any problems. In fact, I could actually hear it flattening out while I worked on the other parts of this card. And for some real (messy) fun, sprinkle some Dazzling Diamonds on the background before the water dries. My suggestion: use the Diamonds very sparingly!

Love You Much Bundle

I'm having so much fun playing with the Love You Much stamp set, Candy Lane designer paper and the Three Heart punch. I made this card for our January Inkcited swap and thought I'd share for those of you who can't attend (plus the weather is supposed to be terrible so who knows who'll make it).

The start of a new journey...

As you can tell from the title of this blog, I'm so INKcited to begin this blogging journey with you. Starting a stamping blog is something that I've thought about for a long time, but frankly, it scared me to take the plunge. I wasn't sure if I'd have the time to maintain such a site (still am!) and I didn't know if anyone would even pay attention to this blog. When I mentioned my desire to start a blog that all members of my INKcited Stampin' Up! downline could contribute to, I got a mixed bag of responses. Some were very INKcited. Others expressed a certain amount of fear. Still others chose to ignore my suggestion entirely (OK, I did bring this up right before Christmas, so I'll cut you some slack!). The response was good enough that I decided to go for it. And if everyone who says they'll contribute falls by the wayside, then the responsibility will fall squarely on my shoulders. And I suppose I'm OK with that.

So for those members of INKcited who have been asking when we'll be up and running...tada! I hope this blog becomes a great way for us to share inspiration, stamping tips and more. I can't wait to se what you have to share!
